Featuring proven ActiveTouch™ technology, ActiveMetal™ switches offer engineers and designers the Next Generation in switching and sensing technology, freeing them from the technical specification limitations traditionally associated with conventional electronic or electro-mechanical switching configurations. While they are insensitive to liquid spills and other contaminants, these switches have a familiar look and feel.

ActiveMetal™ switches are available in 19mm, 22mm, 30mm and 38mm mounting diameters with 316 stainless or Type II anodised ( clear, black, red, and green ) aluminium 6061 body finish with momentary or maintained action. Custom labelling / legending on the actuator surface is also available via laser-etching.

Because these innovative new switches are vandal proof, waterproof, shock- and vibration- resistant, and impact resistant, they are ideally suited for harsh and hazardous environments typical of outdoor, industrial, security, medical and military applications. In addition, they perform extremely well with appliances, ATM’s, on and off road automotive, clean rooms, elevators, showers/spas, food processing, pharmaceutical, underwater and retail point of sale.

Operationally, the unique ActiveMetal™ technology has its basis in trapped acoustic resonance combined with rugged metal housings. A finger, or even thickly gloved, protected hand, touching the front of the switch dampens the vibration.

As versatile as they are cutting edge, ActiveMetal™ switches have virtually unlimited life, are not effected by ESD and RFI / EMI (when mounted), and operate at temperatures from -40C to +85C. Input/Output configurations are available as 5VDC Input/Digital Output; 5VDC Input / Open Collector Output; and 10-24VDC Input / Open Collector Output.

ActiveMetal™ switches can easily be incorporated into panel thicknesses ranging from 0.762mm (0.030”) to 12.7mm (0.500”) and are RoHS and IEC IP68 compliant.
